FINALLY he’s seen sense – Vaughan Gething has announced he is quitting as First Minister of Wales (FMW).
He has described it as “difficult” but surely after the past extraordinary events it should not have been a ‘difficult’ decision at all!
In a statement, he said: “I have this morning taken the difficult decision to begin the process of stepping down as leader of the Welsh Labour Party and, as a result, First Minister”.
But this has come after a succession of scandals which cannot have done his party any good in the General Election (GE).
The announcement today also followed in the wake of news that four of his ministers were quitting telling Mr Gething that they could not get on with their jobs “without you standing down”.
What goes around comes around…
The memories of our Editor, Welshman Phil Parry’s, decades-long award-winning career in journalism (when commenting on major political stories was always paramount), as he was gripped by the rare disabling condition Hereditary Spastic Paraplegia (HSP), have been released in a major book ‘A GOOD STORY’. Order it now!
Regrettably publication of another book, however, was refused, because it was to have included names.
